The Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Mellow” is a collaboration between the Boston-based sneaker boutique and Nike on the vintage running shoe in a colorway inspired by 1960s and 1970s youth culture. The "Mellow" colorway nods favorably to the music festivals of the era, particularly the '69 Harlem Cultural Festival, which was fronted by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and many more. The unique fashion worn by the festival's headliners and concertgoers characterizes the eye-catching headscarf, cowhide, denim and woven materials found on the "Mellow's" design. Velvet accents, frayed edges and a multicolored Swoosh highlight the shoe's "Flower Power" design ethos.
